Are you a BCom graduate with completed SAICA articles and ready to take the next step in your finance career? This could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for! A well-established packaging company based in the Helderberg area is looking for a hands-on Accountant to take responsibility for the full finance function , while gaining valuable exposure to the manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Full Financial Accounting Function Manage the accounting function from transactional processing through to trial balance Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports Prepare and post monthly journals, accruals and provisions Perform balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations Manage bank and cashbook reconciliations Oversee debtors and creditors Manage fixed assets and maintain the asset register Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules Management Accounting & Reporting Prepare monthly management reports and financial packs Perform budget vs actual variance analysis Assist with annual budgets and forecasting Provide financial analysis and insights to management Monitor business performance, costs and margins Assist management with financial decision-making Cost & Management Accounting Analyse manufacturing and production costs Assist with product costing and margin analysis Monitor raw material, labour and overhead costs Investigate production variances Assist with inventory accounting and stock reconciliations Provide financial support to production and operational teams Tax, Audit & Compliance Prepare VAT and statutory submissions Assist with income tax and other tax-related requirements Prepare audit files and supporting schedules Liaise with external auditors during year-end Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies Controls & Process Improvement Maintain effective financial controls Review finance processes and identify areas for improvement Ensure accurate and timely financial information Assist with implementing and improving accounting processes and procedures Requirements BCom Accounting / BCom Finance Completed SAICA articles Minimum 1 year post-articles experience Strong financial accounting and management accounting knowledge Manufacturing, packaging or FMCG experience would be advantageous Good Excel skills Knowledge of accounting systems/ERP Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail Ability to work independently and take ownership Commercially minded and hands-on approach Apply now!
