About this role
We are looking for a Senior Instrumentation Engineer to represent the Owner's Team in driving world-class execution, pre-commissioning, and commissioning for major industrial and oil & gas facilities. In this role, you will act as the primary technical authority on site, overseeing EPC contractors to ensure every control valve, loop, and automated system meets rigorous safety and performance standards. You will bridge the gap between design engineering and physical operations—taking projects seamlessly from construction through SAT, start-up, and final handover. The Tech Stack Deep-Dive Field Instrumentation & Safety Must-Haves: Pressure, temperature, flow, and level instruments; control/actuated valves; fire & gas (F&G) systems; ESD-related instrumentation; cause-and-effect matrix testing. Nice-to-Haves: Advanced tank gauging systems, custody transfer/metering systems, and process analyzers. Control Systems & Interfaces Must-Haves: Strong interface knowledge across DCS, PLC, ESD, and SCADA architectures; loop checking and functional testing execution. Nice-to-Haves: Terminal automation integration and advanced logic diagram troubleshooting. Standards, Codes & Hazardous Areas Must-Haves: IEC, ISA, API, NFPA, and ATEX/IECEx compliance; hazardous area classification; Ex equipment installation, cable glanding, and marshalling. Nice-to-Haves: CompEx certification, Functional Safety (TÜV/ISA) training, or ECSA professional registration. Key Responsibilities (Keep it brief) Site Supervision & Witnessing: Hands-on verification of instrument calibration, loop checks, SAT, continuity/insulation testing, and pre-commissioning/commissioning dossiers. EPC & Quality Oversight: Review and approve EPC deliverables (P&IDs, loop diagrams, ITPs, cause-and-effect matrices), manage punch lists, and resolve technical queries (RFIs/NCRs). Interdisciplinary Coordination: Align seamlessly with electrical, mechanical, piping, vendor automation, and operations teams to guarantee complete compliance with permit-to-work and site HSE standards.
