About this role
In this role, you will be the principal client-side technical authority on site, driving quality control, structural integrity, and rotating equipment installation. You will bridge design reviews with heavy construction—ensuring everything from API storage tanks to high-pressure piping networks meet exact specifications prior to commissioning. The Tech Stack Deep-Dive Storage Tanks, Static Equipment & Piping Must-Haves: API 650/653 principles, tank foundation/shell erection, welding, NDT, hydrotesting, settlement monitoring, piping network fabrication, isometric drawings, pipe supports, and valve installation. Nice-to-Haves: API inspection certifications, CSWIP, or AWS qualifications. Rotating Equipment & Mechanical Packages Must-Haves: Heavy industrial pumps, precision shaft alignment, coupling checks, lubrication, preservation, and performance verification. Nice-to-Haves: Specialized loading/offloading manifolds, firewater systems, and mechanical skid packages. Codes, Standards & Governance Must-Haves: API, ASME, ASTM, NFPA, ANSI, ISO, SANS, and local statutory site regulations. Nice-to-Haves: Professional Engineer registration (ECSA), Chartered Engineer status, PMP, or NEBOSH/IOSH safety certifications. Key Responsibilities (Keep it brief) Site Construction & Integrity Supervision: Witness and sign off on critical mechanical hold points including tank shell erection, NDT, hydrotesting, flushing, pressure testing safety, and pump alignments. EPC Engineering & Dossier Review: Review and challenge contractor deliverables, isometric drawings, P&IDs, Method Statements, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs). Mechanical Completion & Handover: Manage system punch lists, resolve technical query/non-conformance issues (RFIs/NCRs), and ensure seamless mechanical completion transfer to commissioning teams
