About this role
In this role, you will act as the principal client-side civil authority on site, supervising EPC contractors through heavy earthworks, tank foundations, and structural steel erection. You will bridge initial site development with structural readiness—ensuring all reinforced concrete, heavy pavements, and underground utilities meet exact engineering tolerances. The Tech Stack Deep-Dive Tank Foundations, Structures & Concrete Must-Haves: API/SANS tank foundation design principles, equipment foundations, reinforced concrete, structural steel, pipe supports, anchor bolting, and rebar inspection. Nice-to-Haves: Advanced structural stability analysis and specialized dynamic load foundation monitoring. Civil Works, Earthworks & Pavements Must-Haves: Subgrade preparation, heavy-duty asphalt/concrete paving, road profiles, access road design, kerbs, grading, underground utilities, and industrial site drainage. Nice-to-Haves: AASHTO heavy-vehicle traffic circulation modeling and site stormwater management optimization. Codes, Standards & Governance Must-Haves: ACI, AISC, ASTM, BS/EN, AASHTO, API, and SANS statutory regulations. Nice-to-Haves: Direct experience within an Owner's Team, PMC, or Client Representative role on mega-scale capital projects. Key Responsibilities (Keep it brief) Site Construction Supervision: Witness and approve critical civil hold points, including soil compaction, foundation pours, rebar placement, structural steel alignment, and paving layers. EPC Engineering & Submittal Review: Review and challenge contractor civil layouts, grading plans, Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and structural drawings. Quality & Safety Enforcement: Drive contractor compliance with project schedules, quality standards, and environmental HSE rules across earthworks, drainage, and road construction.
