Maintenance Technician - Job Vacancy Position: Maintenance Technician Reporting to: Site Facility Manager Seniority Level: Mid Career (4 - 6 yrs exp) Region: Gauteng Location: JHB - Eastern Suburbs Type: Permanent Job Description PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The incumbent will manage facility maintenance, oversee soft and hard services, supervise contractors, enhance operational effectiveness, and ensure health & safety compliance. Key Responsibilities Maintenance and Reliability: Perform planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. Utilities and Facilities: Maintain utility systems, monitor electrical reticulation, inspect infrastructure, and support improvement projects. Safety and Compliance: Ensure OHS compliance, conduct safety inspections, maintain a safe working environment, and participate in risk assessments. Contractor Management: Assess work quality, supervise contractors, and monitor performance against standards. Continuous Improvement: Identify reliability improvements, implement maintenance projects, propose energy-saving initiatives, and contribute to productivity programs. Site and Asset Management: Ensure assets remain in good condition, monitor facility assets, coordinate maintenance activities, and maintain high housekeeping standards. Inspections and Reporting: Conduct equipment inspections, prepare maintenance reports, maintain accurate records, and report on progress. Educational Requirements Trade Qualification Millwright IT literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Copilot) English fluency Desired Knowledge / Experience Maintenance background with electrical maintenance experience Experience in maintaining Gas Heated Spray Booths, Shotblast Machines, and Welding Machines Knowledge of Installation Rules & Regulations (SANS 10142), HV switching, Quality & H&S standards Excellent communication, self-motivation, adaptability, and proactive mindset
