PRODUCTION MANAGER Location: Garankuwa, Pretoria DRIVE PRODUCTION. LEAD TEAMS. DELIVER QUALITY. NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS: 3+ years’ Production Supervisor experience. Relevant Diploma / Degree. FMCG / Beverage industry experience. ROLE OVERVIEW: The Production Manager will oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, food safety and operational requirements are met. The role will lead production teams, optimise processes, manage resources and drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing environment. Minimum requirements: Relevant Diploma/Degree in Production Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing or a related field. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Production Supervisor role. FMCG / Beverage manufacturing experience essential. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production equipment. Knowledge of production planning, scheduling and resource allocation. Understanding of quality, food safety, health and environmental requirements. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles. Strong understanding of production KPIs and performance reporting. Experience managing production teams and coordinating staff activities. Ability to work with procurement, logistics, Quality Assurance, and other departments. Experience monitoring equipment performance and coordinating maintenance requirements. Analytical and detail-focused. Duties and responsibilities: Oversee daily manufacturing operations and ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved. Manage production teams, allocate responsibilities and monitor staff performance. Develop and monitor production schedules and allocate resources according to production requirements. Ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to required quality standards. Drive Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and waste-reduction initiatives. Identify production issues, investigate root causes and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with food safety, health, environmental and operational requirements. Monitor quality control processes and support internal and external audits. Coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, Quality Assurance and R&D to ensure smooth production flow. Monitor inventory, material availability and production requirements. Monitor machinery and equipment performance and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance. Minimise production downtime and improve operational reliability. Track production KPIs and prepare regular production reports for management. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Manage production schedules and adjust plans according to changing demand or supply requirements. Ensure production procedures and safety protocols are consistently followed. Support training, development and performance management of production employees.
