Parow, Cape Town An established engineering and manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Costing Engineer to support project, tender and production costing within a technical manufacturing environment. This role requires someone with strong cost-analysis, mathematical and commercial skills who can interpret drawings and specifications, calculate accurate project costs and work closely with Engineering, Procurement and Production. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate project cost estimates from specifications, drawings and technical data. Analyse material, labour and overhead costs . Develop project budgets and provide input into pricing strategies. Work closely with Engineering, Procurement and Production to obtain accurate cost information. Prepare detailed costing analyses for tenders and quotations. Monitor cost trends and provide reports to management. Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or safety. Maintain accurate costing databases, records and supporting documentation. Assist with tendering and bidding processes. Support commercial decision-making through accurate and reliable costing information. Minimum Requirements Demonstrated experience in a Costing Engineer, Estimator, Engineering Costing or similar role . Strong mathematical and numerical ability. Excellent attention to detail. Strong computer literacy. Methodical and structured approach to work. Good analytical and problem-solving ability. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work effectively with technical and production teams. Bilingual in English and Afrikaans . Advantageous Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline . Experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Experience in HVAC, ventilation, industrial fans or air-movement applications . Exposure to manufacturing and production costing. Ideal Candidate This position will suit a technically minded, detail-oriented costing professional who enjoys working with drawings, specifications, materials, labour rates and project costs . You should be analytical, commercially aware and able to produce accurate costings that support both tendering and profitable project execution. Working Hours Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00 Friday: 08:00 – 16:00, with the option to leave at 15:00 if work is completed. Location: Parow, Cape Town Salary: From R35 000 CTC per month
