Parow, Cape Town An established engineering and manufacturing business is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join its technical team and take ownership of ventilation and air-handling projects from concept through to commissioning . This is a technically focused role combining mechanical engineering, system design, equipment selection, project support, costing and client interaction . It is suited to an Engineer who enjoys working across the full project lifecycle, from interpreting client requirements through to design, manufacture, installation and commissioning. Key Responsibilities Interpret client specifications, tender documents and technical requirements. Design and select appropriate ventilation, fan and air-handling systems . Develop practical and cost-effective mechanical solutions. Prepare technical proposals, equipment schedules and detailed costings. Engage with clients to clarify requirements and present technical solutions. Work closely with draughting, production and installation teams. Ensure designs are practical, manufacturable and commercially viable. Support projects through manufacture, installation and commissioning. Provide technical troubleshooting and commissioning support. Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and regulations. Attend site visits and client meetings as required. Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously. Minimum Requirements BEng / BSc Mechanical Engineering – essential. Proven experience in a Mechanical Engineering role . Strong understanding of mechanical design and engineering principles. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Ability to interpret technical specifications and engineering requirements. Strong commercial awareness and cost-conscious approach. Good client-facing communication skills. Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Bilingual in English and Afrikaans . Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of projects. Highly Advantageous Experience within: Ventilation systems HVAC Industrial fan systems Air-handling systems Industrial air movement Large turnkey engineering projects Ideal Candidate A technically capable Mechanical Engineer who enjoys taking projects from design and equipment selection through to manufacture, installation and commissioning . You should be practical, commercially aware, comfortable dealing with clients and able to work effectively with engineering, production and installation teams. Working Hours Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00 Friday: 08:00 – 16:00, with the option to leave at 15:00 if work is completed. Location: Parow, Cape Town Salary: From R50 000 CTC per month
