Elsies River, Cape Town R38 000 – R45 000 CTC per month Permanent A well-established food manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Financial Accountant to take responsibility for the accounting and financial administration of a group comprising four entities. This is a broad, hands-on finance role covering full-function accounting, management accounts, month-end, SARS compliance, payroll oversight, creditors and debtors, banking, foreign exchange, audit coordination and finance-team management . The successful candidate will work closely with Directors and senior management and should be comfortable taking ownership of the finance function within a busy manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Manage monthly accounting and financial processing across four entities. Complete month-end procedures, journals, accruals and provisions. Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations . Prepare monthly trial balances, income statements, balance sheets and management accounts . Analyse financial performance, variances and trends. Manage intercompany accounts, fixed assets and depreciation. Prepare and submit VAT returns, EMP501 reconciliations and other SARS requirements . Manage SARS queries and statutory compliance. Oversee monthly and weekly payroll processes. Supervise creditors, debtors and finance administration. Monitor cash flow, banking and payment requirements. Manage foreign currency transactions, international supplier payments and forex exposure . Coordinate annual audits and prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation. Maintain and improve financial controls and accounting processes. Manage, mentor and support finance and payroll staff. Coordinate B-BBEE, Employment Equity and other statutory reporting requirements. Minimum Requirements Relevant BCom Accounting / Financial Accounting degree or equivalent . Minimum 5 years’ relevant accounting experience , preferably at Senior Accountant / Financial Accountant level. Strong full accounting function experience. Strong month-end and management accounts experience. Experience with VAT, PAYE, EMP501 and SARS compliance . Payroll oversight experience. Experience managing or supervising a finance team. Annual audit preparation and auditor liaison experience. Pastel Accounting experience essential. Strong Microsoft Excel skills essential. Manufacturing experience highly advantageous. Inventory / manufacturing accounting experience highly advantageous. Foreign currency and international supplier experience advantageous. SAICA / SAIPA articles advantageous. B-BBEE and Employment Equity reporting exposure advantageous.
