Position available for a Financial Accountant based in Vanderbijlpark. Relevant qualifications and experience in a related discipline: BCom Financial degree or studying towards. At least 5 years engineering and/or manufacturing industry. Must have knowledge and know how to comply with relevant business legislation. Must have a sound knowledge of accounting principles and standards. ERP experience required. Must know SARS E-filing and the processes around it. Advanced Microsoft office. Duties & Responsibilities: Review recording of financial transactions per project, department, or company. Assist in preparing financial statements for internal and external use. Assist in reconciling spending actual vs budget per project/cost centre. Recommend methods and strategies for cutting cost. Maintain records and support auditing efforts. Submit accurate monthly bank reconciliations for approval. Review and processing of journals to the general ledger. Ensure all journals are authorized before processing. Ensure that the relevant balance sheet account reconciliations are completed monthly and approve once done. Ensure that the balance sheet account reconciliations are finalised on debtors and creditors and approve once done. Responsible for debtors and creditor’s function. Assist with cash-flow monitoring and provide relevant financial information to management to support cash management and planning. Provide on the job training to all subordinates. Submit reports to the Financial Manager for development of more informative reporting ways to assist management in their decision making Submit reports to the financial manager to enable him/her to compile budgets. Submit info to the financial manager to enable her/him to analyse and improve the current costing processes. AD HOC Duties assigned from time to time. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving experience. Proactive, self-starter with initiative. Good communication, planning and time management skills. Deadline driven.
