Our logistics client is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take overall responsibility for the performance of a busy Distribution Centre — leading receiving, storage, transport and picking operations while driving operational excellence across the warehouse. This is a role for someone who has managed 400+ employees! Key requirements: Grade 12 with Higher Grade Mathematics Relevant tertiary Diploma / Degree / Qualification 5–7 years' relevant experience in Warehousing / Distribution , ideally within FMCG, QSR or a similar high-volume environment . Exposure should include: Warehouse & Distribution Shift Management Transport Management Inventory flow Supply Chain Management People Management Disciplinary processes Health & Safety Management Facility & Asset Management Contingency Planning Continuous Improvement / Best Practice Management of multi-temperature stock Complex, multi-site or multi-disciplinary operations Experience within large organisations and teams of 400+ employees Strong systems capability in MS Office Advanced Excel Advanced Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Accounting / ERP systems experience Experience with Microsoft Great Plains is ideal Key Responsibilities; As Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring the Distribution Centre operates safely, efficiently, accurately and within budget . This is a Senior Management opportunity reporting directly to the General Manager , with responsibility for the overall performance and well-being of the Distribution Centre's receiving, storage, transport and picking functions.
