This opportunity is ideally suited to a SAIPA-trained candidate who has gained strong hands-on exposure to the accounting function and is comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Duties & Responsibilities Prepare and review accounts up to Trial Balance . Process and reconcile bank accounts, debtors, creditors and cashbooks. Perform general ledger reconciliations and process month-end journals. Assist with monthly management accounts and financial reporting. Prepare and submit VAT and other SARS-related returns and reconciliations . Handle UIF and Workmen's Compensation / COIDA administration and submissions. Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation. Assist with fixed assets, statutory compliance and audit preparation. Work across multiple accounting systems and ensure information is processed accurately and timeously. Manage competing priorities and deadlines within a high-volume finance environment . Support continuous improvement of finance processes and internal controls. Job Experience & Skills Required BCom Accounting / Finance degree or relevant accounting qualification. SAIPA training / articles highly preferred. Approximately 1–3 years' relevant accounting experience . Strong practical understanding of accounting through to Trial Balance . Working knowledge of SARS, VAT, UIF and Workmen's Compensation / COIDA . Exposure to multiple accounting and payroll systems, ideally including: Sage Xero Pastel Online / Sage Business Cloud Pastel Desktop Payroll systems Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy. Strong organisational and time-management skills are essential. Ability to prioritise effectively when managing multiple deadlines. High-energy, proactive and hands-on personality. Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team. A clean criminal and credit record is required , as relevant pre-employment checks will be conducted. What Will Make You Successful? The biggest challenge in this position is time management . You should be someone who takes ownership, works with urgency and follows tasks through to completion without compromising accuracy.
