A leading pharmaceutical company has a vacancy for a Human Capital Officer. Job Purpose: The Human Capital Officer serves as a operations partner to business leaders, delivering Human Capital solutions that support organizational objectives, operational excellence, employee engagement, workforce effectiveness, and regulatory compliance. The role provides expert advice and guidance on employee relations, talent management, performance management, organisational development, change management, workforce planning, and employment legislation. To partner with business leaders to develop and implement Human Capital strategies that enhance organisational performance, employee engagement, workforce capability, and legal compliance while supporting sustainable business growth Key Requirements: Talent Acquisition and Workforce Planning Coordinate the efficient and effective operation of Recruitment, Placement, Selection & Administration. Following Policies and procedures for recruiting Appointments are aligned to Affirmative Action Plan, Human Resources objectives Vacancies signed off by line Recruitment costs kept to a minimum Conduct regular audits to check compliance of existing practices to policies, procedures, and legislation, identify trends and areas of concerns relative to customer service level commitment and make recommendations for improvements. Attend interviews and advice line management on selection criteria, interview skills (e.g. format of interview, suitable of applicant.) Conveys conditions of service to successful staff Screens applications for employment Partner with management to identify current and future workforce requirements. Support recruitment and selection activities for critical and strategic positions. Ensure compliance with Employment Equity requirements during recruitment processes. Monitor vacancies and recruitment metrics. Employment Equity &Transformation Implementation of action plans to attain business transformation targets Assist with achievements of target as agreed EE Forum Structure fully functional Procedural compliance Audit EE plan deliverables -action plans developed and executed Ensure proper alignment between the recruitment strategy and employment equity strategy Ensure report is submitted in line with EE Act Compliance, Governance and Risk Management Continuously assesses the performance of the Administration and operational practices Ensure compliance with all laws, rules & standards Ensure Transparent and thorough HC processes HC metrics e.g. headcount, staff turnover, performance management, succession planning and personal development are set & implemented Clear rationale and business case for any restructuring developed in conjunction with line management Conduct Human Capital audits and compliance reviews. Maintain accurate employee records and reports. Identify Human Capital risks and implement mitigation plans Human Capital Reporting and Analytics Assists the HC Manager to implement and maintain a Headcount plan to meet needs of the Site Ensures that new engagements, terminations & changes in status are processed Ensures effective/ efficient maintenance of files Assists employees with the resolution of HR issues / queries/ payroll problems are timorously resolved Prepare monthly and quarterly Human Capital reports. Analyse key people metrics, including: Provide actionable insights to management. Employee and Labour Relations Advise managers on disciplinary matters, grievances, incapacity processes, poor performance management, and misconduct investigations. Support CCMA, Bargaining Council, and Labour Court matters where required. Ensure consistent application of labour legislation, company policies, and collective agreements. Facilitate conflict resolution and promote positive employee relations. Assist in union consultations and organisational change initiatives. Performance Management Drive the performance management process across assigned business units. Coach managers on performance goal setting, performance reviews, and development planning. Monitor performance management compliance and effectiveness. Support implementation of performance improvement plans. Organisational Development and Change Management Support organisational restructuring, transformation, and change projects. Conduct impact assessments and develop change management plans. Facilitate communication and stakeholder engagement during change initiatives. Support leadership development and capability-building programmes. Adhoc Perform any other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time, in line with the scope of the role, organisational requirements and the incumbent’s skills, qualifications and level of responsibility. Requirements: Degree/Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology/ Labour Relations, Business Administration, or related field. Post Graduate qualification advantageous Minimum 5- 8 years’ Human Resources generalist experience Experience within a unionised manufacturing, FMCG, pharmaceutical, logistics, or industrial environment advantageous. Proven experience in labour relations, change management, organisational development, and talent management.
