Accountant – Fresh Produce Industry 🍎 Location: Wellington Salary: Market-related, depending on experience and qualifications Are you an experienced accounting professional with a strong background in the fresh fruit industry? We are looking for a detail-oriented and disciplined Accountant to join a dynamic team, taking responsibility for producer payments, cost accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting. Minimum Requirements BCompt or BTech degree. Completed articles at a registered auditing firm or a minimum of 3 years’ relevant accounting experience. Essential: Sound experience in the fresh fruit industry. Strong computer literacy, particularly advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Knowledge of cost accounting and standard costing principles. Experience handling foreign exchange (forex). Key Responsibilities Capture and review produce costs, related cost elements and adjustments. Prepare and review weekly payments to producers. Send payment remittances and report on producer payment summaries. Manage producer payment deduction ledgers. Invoice costs back to producers. Reconcile and report on balance sheet items relating to standard cost control accounts. Facilitate the onboarding of new producers. Prepare ad hoc reports and perform other relevant accounting functions as required. The Ideal Candidate Excellent organisational and communication skills.
