FinOps Engineer - Centurion Salary: R85 000 - R105 000 CTC per month Contract: 6 Month contract Hybrid: 2 to 3 days a week on-site Our client is looking for a FinOps Operational Analyst – AWS & Azure to join their team in Centurion . This is a hands-on six-month contract opportunity focused on improving cloud-cost visibility, allocation, reporting, forecasting, optimisation and operational processes across AWS and Microsoft Azure environments. Key Responsibilities: Build and maintain accurate AWS and Azure cloud-cost reporting and dashboards. Improve cost visibility across business units, products, applications, environments and cost centres. Strengthen tagging, ownership mapping, cost allocation, showback and chargeback processes. Analyse cloud billing and usage data to identify trends, anomalies and cost drivers. Produce recurring dashboards, variance reports, forecasts and optimisation views. Support cloud recovery calculations, allocation outputs and financial reporting processes. Maintain data-quality controls for untagged, misallocated, idle, orphaned or anomalous resources. Track and support rightsizing, scheduling, cleanup and licensing optimisation initiatives. Support Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Azure Reservations and Azure Hybrid Benefit. Develop queries, scripts, dashboards, alerts and lightweight automation to reduce manual effort. Maintain an optimisation backlog with accountable owners, target dates and realised savings. Provide operational FinOps support to Finance, Cloud Engineering, Architecture, Procurement and business stakeholders. Develop practical FinOps procedures, runbooks, knowledge material and self-service guidance. Support responsible cloud consumption across a federated enterprise environment. Minimum Requirements: 4–7+ years’ relevant experience across FinOps operations, cloud-cost management, IT financial management, data analytics, finance operations, cloud operations or technology cost management. Hands-on experience with AWS and Microsoft Azure billing and cost-management capabilities. Practical understanding of AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Budgets, Azure Cost Management and Azure Advisor . Experience with tagging, allocation, showback, chargeback, budgets and anomaly management. Experience producing cloud-cost dashboards, forecasts, variance analysis and actionable reporting. Understanding of rightsizing, commitment management and cloud-cost optimisation. Strong financial and commercial acumen across budgets, forecasts, allocation, accruals, recoveries or unit economics. Capability with tools such as Power BI, Advanced Excel, SQL, Python, PowerShell, APIs or cloud-native reporting services. Ability to interpret complex cloud data and translate it into clear business insight and practical action. Experience working across Engineering, Finance, Product, Architecture, Procurement and business teams. FinOps Certified Practitioner certification , or a commitment to obtain it within an agreed period. Nice to Have: MagicOrange or comparable IT financial-management platform experience. Experience with Snowflake, JDE, ServiceNow, Datadog or CMDB integrations. Financial-services, regulated-industry, governance or audit experience. Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code or cloud automation experience. AWS, Azure, Power BI, data analytics or advanced FinOps certifications. Experience supporting Marketplace governance, cloud licensing or third-party vendor allocation. How You Work: Analytical, accurate and highly detail-oriented.
