Somerset West, our client, a specialist forensic accounting practice focusing on commercial insurance claims and fraud investigations, is looking to appoint a Forensic Accountant. The successful candidate will lead complex forensic investigations, assess high-value commercial insurance claims, quantify financial losses and prepare clear, evidence based reports for insurers, legal professionals and corporate clients. Key responsibilities Investigate suspected insurance fraud, financial irregularities and misrepresentation Review complex commercial and business-interruption claims Analyse financial statements, bank records, invoices, payroll and stock information Quantify loss of profit, increased costs, stock losses and other commercial damages Reconstruct incomplete financial records and trace transactions Prepare detailed forensic and expert reports Present findings to insurers, attorneys, loss adjusters and clients Support litigation, negotiations and dispute-resolution processes Manage assignments and provide guidance to junior team members Requirements Relevant Accounting, Auditing or Forensic Accounting qualification Approximately 5 - 10 years' relevant experience Experience in forensic accounting, commercial insurance claims, investigations, external audit or dispute advisory Strong financial analysis, Excel and report-writing skills Experience with business-interruption or loss-of-profit calculations A CA(SA), AGA(SA), CFE or similar designation will be advantageous High levels of integrity, professional scepticism and confidentiality
