Our client in New Zealand is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial design engineering role. Project Management experience or qualifications are ideal, and CAD skills are essential. Job Title : Mechanical Design Engineer Geographical area : New Zealand The Company specialises in: Machine Design Product Design FE Analysis Project Engineering Minimum qualifications and experience: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical or similar) At least 5+ years of relevant industry experience specifically in machine design/product design (hands-on, end-to-end) Strong CAD capability in SolidWorks and/or Inventor; including producing manufacturing-ready models/drawings The ability to lead work packages independently (requirements → design → reviews → release), including managing stakeholders and design risk Exposure to DFMA, prototyping, testing, and production support (highly beneficial) Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English -so you can work effectively with clients, fabricators, suppliers, and internal stakeholders Confidence in working within New Zealand workplace culture, including collaborative ways of working, clear expectation-setting, and proactive stakeholder communication Project delivery experience (useful, but secondary to strong practical design capability) Please apply via our website: www.edrecruiters.co.za or submit your CV to [email protected] - Reference Pta003801 Companies may expire jobs at their discretion.
