Tax Compliance Officer Location: Gauteng, Alberton Benefits: Medical Aid & Pension Fund A well-established accounting practice is looking for a detail-oriented Tax Compliance Officer to join its professional team. This opportunity is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys working with SARS, managing client compliance, and ensuring accurate and timeous tax submissions across a diverse client portfolio. Key Responsibilities Prepare and submit Individual Income Tax Returns (ITR12) Prepare and submit Provisional Tax Returns (IRP6) Prepare and submit Company Income Tax Returns (ITR14) Prepare and submit VAT201 returns Prepare Trust and Non-Profit tax returns Process EMP201 and EMP501 submissions and reconciliations Prepare tax computations, capital reconciliations and statements of assets and liabilities Ensure all statutory deadlines are met and submissions are completed accurately via SARS eFiling Liaise directly with SARS regarding verifications, audits, objections, penalties, payment arrangements and tax registrations Resolve SARS eFiling profile issues and attend SARS appointments where required Process Tax Clearance applications and monitor ongoing client compliance Communicate tax liabilities and deadlines with clients Maintain accurate tax working papers, compliance trackers and supporting documentation Minimum Requirements Qualification in Taxation 2–5 years' experience in a Tax Compliance role within an accounting practice Strong knowledge of South African tax legislation Hands-on experience using SARS eFiling Experience with ITR12, ITR14, IRP6, VAT201, EMP201 and EMP501 submissions Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software Valid driver's licence Fluent in Afrikaans (spoken and written) – non-negotiable Registered Tax Practitioner status will be advantageous Skills & Attributes Excellent attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines Professional communication and client service skills Strong organisational and administrative ability Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team If you meet the above requirements and are looking to grow your career within a dynamic and supportive accounting practice, we'd love to hear from you.
