Chilled and Frozen Food Buyer opportunity within an international trading environment, responsible for ensuring consistent product availability, accurate order execution and strong supplier collaboration. The role will suit an experienced procurement professional who can effectively manage buying activities within established commercial strategies and guidelines. Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day buying activities, order management and cross-functional coordination. Identify and assess potential domestic and international suppliers in line with approved category strategies. Request and evaluate quotations, compare commercial offers and recommend preferred suppliers for approval. Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within approved parameters, escalating high-value negotiations where required. Maintain regular communication with existing suppliers to ensure product availability, continuity of supply and agreed service levels. Support supplier-led marketing and promotional initiatives in collaboration with sales teams. Conduct virtual supplier assessments and audits to ensure compliance with required quality specifications. Assist with the timely investigation and resolution of supplier-related quality issues and discrepancies. Keep up to date with relevant industry regulations, food safety standards and labelling requirements. Identify potential new product opportunities and make recommendations based on market demand and consumer trends. Prepare and present reports relating to procurement activities, order tracking, market trends and supplier performance. Track and manage active orders from placement through to shipment, liaising with internal commercial teams, export controllers and relevant service providers to ensure smooth execution. Participate in customer calls alongside commercial teams to understand technical requirements and recommend suitable product options. Assist with PPECB, veterinary and other regulatory requirements, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared and available for shipments. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related discipline. 3 - 5 years of experience in a procurement or category buying role, preferably within the FMCG, meat, or frozen food industry. Strong knowledge of meat industry trends, suppliers, and products. Basic understanding of food safety standards and regulatory compliance requirements. Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier meetings, audits, trade shows, or other relevant business activities.
