A leading multinational organisation is seeking an experienced Regional Compliance Head – Africa to lead and strengthen its compliance and ethics framework across multiple African markets.This is a senior legal and compliance leadership role suited to an accomplished legal professional with strong multijurisdictional and multinational experience, who can provide strategic guidance while working closely with business leaders, legal teams and external advisor Key Responsibilities Lead the regional compliance function across African markets and implement global compliance policies locally. Provide guidance on compliance, governance, delegated authority and contractual requirements. Develop and deliver FCPA and Code of Conduct training to employees and vendors. Lead and oversee ethics and compliance investigations, including providing legal guidance on confidentiality, privilege, evidence preservation, remediation and reporting. Oversee regional OFAC checks, REIT reporting, risk management and compliance reporting. Review and advise on third-party agreements and negotiated compliance provisions. Monitor compliance performance, develop KPIs and identify opportunities for process improvement. Lead, develop and manage the regional team, setting objectives and performance expectations. Manage external legal counsel and service providers where required. Provide timely and commercially sound legal and compliance advice to internal stakeholders across the region. Travel may be required. Requirements LLB / Graduate Degree in Law required. Admitted or licensed to practise law in a relevant jurisdiction. Postgraduate qualification or specialisation in Corporate Law, International Business or a related field would be advantageous. 8+ years' progressive legal experience. 8+ years' experience within a multinational organisation preferred. At least 5 years' experience as legal counsel in a multi-market/multijurisdictional role. Strong knowledge of international compliance principles, ethics and governance. Demonstrated experience working across multiple jurisdictions. Strong commercial judgement and ability to provide practical legal recommendations. Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Ability to manage a substantial workload in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills. Advanced Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook skills. English proficiency required; additional African language capabilities advantageous. Willingness to travel when required.
