An established engineering and manufacturing organisation in Pietermaritzburg is looking for an experienced Product Development Engineer with a strong background in electrical transmission and distribution line hardware. This role is ideal for an engineer who can take products from concept through development, testing and manufacturing while applying strong technical and analytical skills. BSc/BEng Electrical or Mechanical Engineering ECSA Registered – NON-NEGOTIABLE 5+ years' product development experience in manufacturing Electrical transmission & distribution line hardware experience - NON-NEGOTIABLE Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure products Intermediate CAD/CADD capability Intermediate–Advanced FEA experience ERP experience; SYSPRO advantageous Non-conformance management experience; SHEQX advantageous Strong technical problem-solving and product development skills Develop and improve electrical transmission and distribution line hardware Drive product development within a manufacturing environment Conduct engineering analysis and FEA Develop and review technical designs using CAD/CADD Support product testing, validation and manufacturing Investigate and resolve product non-conformances Work with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams As Specialist Recruiters for professionals in your industry, we are well geared to represent your best career interests.
