Technical Buyer - Urgent Qualification Matric / Senior Certificate Relevant qualification Requirements Valid drivers license Minimum 3 to 5 years' procurement experience, preferably in an engineering, manufacturing, mining or heavy-equipment environment. Able to read drawings and component diagrams would be advantageous Strong knowledge of purchasing processes and supplier management Experience with mechanical, hydraulic or engineering components will be an advantage Computer skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems Work under pressure and manage multiple orders and deadlines Compliance with company and ISO procedures Able to work independently Honest and ethical when dealing with suppliers Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments On-time delivery of required materials Accurate purchase orders and procurement records Duties Source and purchase parts, components, raw materials, consumables and services Obtain and compare supplier quotations and negotiate pricing and terms Work closely with Stores, Workshop, QC, Service and Management Resolve any issues with suppliers Monitor supplier performance and escalate ongoing problems Ensure procurement is conducted in line with company procedures and ISO 9001 requirements Assist with cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or reliability
