About this role
Our client is seeking an experienced Fire & Ventilation Engineer to take technical ownership of fire detection, fire suppression and ventilation systems across a growing network of sites. The role covers the full technical lifecycle, from design and installation through to compliance and statutory sign-off. This is a hands-on position involving site visits, working with local authorities and overseeing projects across multiple countries. Key Responsibilities Design fire detection, suppression and kitchen ventilation systems for new builds and refurbishments. Manage the design process from concept through to completion. Issue Form 2 and Form 4 documentation to local authorities as the appointed Competent Person. Manage, verify and issue Certificates of Conformity for LPG, fire and mechanical ventilation installations. Ensure designs and installations comply with SANS standards and local municipal fire regulations. Define LPG and kitchen extraction infrastructure requirements. Conduct site visits to assess fire safety risks and troubleshoot HVAC and ventilation faults. Manage fire safety capital projects from tender through to final commissioning, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Work closely with architects, draughtspersons and local authorities. Requirements BEng, BSc (Eng) or BTech in Mechanical Engineering. Active ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist (PR Eng / PR Tech Eng) – essential. Minimum 5 years' experience in fire protection design and industrial ventilation. Proficiency in CAD or Revit for infrastructure layouts. Strong knowledge of the National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act. Willingness to travel internationally as required. **ONLY SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONTACTED**
