Our client is looking for an organised and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join their growing company, specialising in the import, export and distribution of premium seafood products to local and international markets. The successful candidate will coordinate national and local distribution, ensuring deliveries are on time, in full and cost-effectively, while maintaining accurate shipment traceability, inventory control, customer service and fleet performance. The ideal candidate will have previous logistics/distribution experience, strong coordination and communication skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage daily, weekly and monthly national delivery plans. Coordinate deliveries to customers, cold stores and other distribution points. Schedule transport and negotiate competitive rates with external transport providers. Consolidate orders to maximise vehicle utilisation and control transport costs. Track deliveries and proactively manage delays, exceptions and customer requirements. Ensure accurate collection and reconciliation of Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation. Plan daily routes and allocate vehicles and drivers efficiently. Monitor fleet utilisation, productivity, fuel consumption and route efficiency. Coordinate vehicle maintenance and ensure vehicles and drivers remain legally compliant. Investigate vehicle incidents, delivery failures and service issues. Liaise with Sales, Warehouse and other internal teams to ensure customer orders are fulfilled correctly and on time. Prioritise urgent, export and special delivery requirements. Maintain accurate shipment documentation, product and batch information and traceability records. Support WMS and GS1 traceability requirements, including shipment verification and recall-related tracking. Build and maintain strong relationships with transport suppliers and monitor service-level performance. Review transporter invoices, resolve discrepancies, claims and service failures, and source alternative carriers when required. Prepare daily delivery and transport reports and monitor key logistics, fleet and carrier performance indicators. Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency, reduce costs and optimise logistics processes. Requirements Matric or equivalent. A qualification or certification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement or a related field would be advantageous. Previous experience in logistics, distribution, transport or fleet coordination. Strong experience in route planning, delivery scheduling and transport coordination. Good understanding of transport costs, fleet utilisation and logistics KPIs. Experience with SAP Business One and Warehouse Management Systems would be advantageous. Strong Excel and data analysis skills; Power BI experience would be an advantage. Knowledge of inventory control, shipment documentation and product traceability. Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and negotiation skills. Customer-focused with excellent communication skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, solutions-focused individual who can effectively coordinate customers, drivers, transport providers, warehouse and sales teams to ensure a reliable, cost-effective and efficient distribution operation.
