The successful candidate will be responsible for underwriting personal lines business, including new business, renewals, endorsements, quotations, and related underwriting functions. This role requires a professional who can make sound underwriting decisions while ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Working closely with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders, you will play a key role in maintaining profitable business, delivering exceptional service standards, and supporting the company's growth objectives. Key Responsibilities Underwrite personal lines policies, including new business, renewals, and endorsements. Prepare and issue quotations in accordance with underwriting guidelines. Assess risks and make informed underwriting decisions. Support the sales team in acquiring and retaining profitable business. Ensure all policy documentation is processed accurately and timeously. Negotiate renewal terms and prepare renewal documentation. Conduct renewal reviews and calculate retention ratios. Request and monitor survey requirements where applicable. Monitor policy exposure and implement corrective actions when necessary. Respond to client and broker queries effectively and professionally. Maintain accurate records and electronic filing systems. Resolve escalated customer queries and complaints within agreed service standards. Collaborate with the underwriting team to achieve service delivery objectives. Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency. Job Experience and Skills Required Matric. NQF 5 qualification in Short-Term Insurance. Regulatory Examination (RE) certification. Personal Lines Class of Business certification. DOFA compliant. Minimum of 4 years' Personal Lines underwriting experience. Strong understanding of Personal Insurance products and the Financial Services industry. Cardinal 360 system experience will be advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
