Company and Job Description: A global organisation within the fitness and wellness sector is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its Finance team. This is a broad, hands-on accounting role within a high-volume environment, offering exposure to a growing international business and the opportunity to work across a varied finance function. The role would suit a qualified accountant who enjoys taking ownership, working with large volumes of financial information and contributing to a dynamic and continuously evolving organisation. Key Responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day accounting function Prepare and review monthly financial and management reports Maintain the general ledger and perform balance sheet reconciliations Prepare and process monthly journals Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances Assist with financial analysis and reporting Support budgeting and forecasting processes Assist with audit requirements and provide supporting documentation Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and procedures Support statutory and tax-related requirements Identify opportunities to simplify and improve finance processes Provide financial support and analysis to management Assist with ad hoc finance projects and reporting requirements Job Experience and Skills Required: Qualification: B.Com Accounting, Finance or relevant qualification SAIPA or AGA(SA) qualification would be advantageous Completed articles Experience: 1-2 years’ post-article experience Strong financial accounting experience Experience within a high-volume environment advantageous Strong exposure to month-end and financial reporting Experience with reconciliations and general ledger management Commercial accounting experience Technical Skills: Strong Microsoft Excel skills Financial accounting Management reporting Financial reporting General ledger Reconciliations Month-end accounting Microsoft Business Central advantageous Navision experience advantageous Pastel experience advantageous Power BI advantageous The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone who is: Highly accurate and detail-oriented Analytical and commercially minded Proactive and self-motivated Comfortable working with high volumes Able to manage deadlines effectively Strong in problem-solving A confident communicator Able to take ownership of their responsibilities Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Adaptable and willing to learn Interested in process improvement and finding better ways of working Why consider this opportunity?
