Bilnor Staffing Solutions' client in the mining sector is seeking a qualified and experienced Instrument Mechanician for position in Westonaria, GP / Rustenburg, North West. South African Citizens and those living in the area will be preferred. The Instrumentation Mechanician is responsible for own safety in terms of section 2.9.3 MHSA as well as for the implementation, maintenance and improvements to Instrumentation systems in the mining, mineral processing and refining environment. This position will provide support to the production teams by ensuring the safe – effective functioning, all control and measurement devices to ensure production capacity is maximised. The work covers planned maintenance, breakdowns, and project work. WORK OUTPUT/KRA (Key Responsibility Areas) ONGOING ACCOUNTABILITIES Technical Maintain Instrumentation related documents (i/o lists, drawings, POC and functional specifications) Ensure measurement systems accuracy and quality implementation associated infrastructure. Refurbish, Maintain, Configure, Setup and test measurement and control devices. Ensure optimization of process control and measuring devices within area of responsibility Execute fault-finding and rectification of control and measurement system failures Assist with root cause failure analysis and fault-finding. (SIR) Focus on safe production, Operational & Work Process functionality Planned Maintenance Complete planned maintenance activities and priorities according to schedule Conduct effective planning for execution of task Safe, correct and effective application of tools, equipment and machinery utilised during duties. Page 2 of 6 Adhere to maintenance schedules and ensure that schedules are conducted accurately Configure, setup and ensures accuracy and precision of measurement systems is maintained Find the cause of breakdowns, inaccuracy and correct Ensure critical spares stock levels is maintained at sufficient levels Ensure that the required material, equipment and spares are available to achieve all planned task outcomes. Redlining of all relevant documentation (Loop drawings, IO schedules, etc.) Standby duties and breakdown assistance during and after normal business hours Maintenance, Construction & Equipment Availability Workmanship and Quality Support installation contractors to ensure safety and quality of technical standards is maintained. Maintain good engineering and installation standards on a continuous basis and during project related work. Ensure accuracy and precision of all control and measurement systems. Report any operational problem encountered to immediate supervisor for further action. Escalation of unresolved breakdowns or unsuccessful maintenance, installation and constructions to Supervisor Administration & Reporting Completion of relevant Maintenance related administration reports and documents. (Job Cards, Verification certification). Adhere to document control standards and procedures. Safekeeping of documentation. Fill-out ad-hoc reports, calibration certification for relevant stakeholders when required. Financial Management Working Cost Budgets & Cost savings Ensure cost effective maintenance activities is conducted line with monthly budget guidelines. Remaining competitive on the global cost curve through: Elimination of unnecessary rework. Minimize Call Outs breakdowns Control own & minimize overtime Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve instrumentation operations. Participation in improvement projects. Identify risks and threats to the process proactively. Building a values-based organisational culture Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture assessment such as the BeQ. ESG Compliance Align to international responsible mining principles. SA PGM Operations: Enhance together for sustainability (eTfS) initiative. Comply with SHE standards within the work environment. Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures. Ensure elimination of all safety hazards related to C & I Ensure the Implementation of Safety Actions Report Near misses Will be subjected to PTO `s & VFL’s Participate in daily green Area (Toolbox Talk) Comply with requirements of the Quality Management System. ROLE REQUIREMENTS MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Qualifications: - NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate for Adults) with English Literacy. - N2 Certificate (Industrial Instrumentation and Electronics). - Section 13 or 26D (completed learner ship / apprentice ship) Instrument Mechanician Trade Certificate as recognized by the MQA Experience: - At least 3 years’ experience in a mineral processing, mining or pyro metallurgical plant. - Good working knowledge of SAP maintenance modules. - Good Working knowledge of Rockwell & Siemens PLC & DCS systems Legal: - Medically fit to work in the specific business area. - Clear security screening record. - Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
