Company and Job Description: An established and rapidly expanding manufacturing organisation within the healthcare and consumer wellness sector is looking for a Financial Accountant to join its finance team. The business operates a large-scale manufacturing facility and is entering an exciting period of continued growth and product expansion. This creates an opportunity for a technically strong accountant to gain meaningful exposure to complex manufacturing operations, financial controls, costing, and commercial decision-making. The ideal candidate enjoys routine and structure but is also curious enough to challenge processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and take initiative when something can be done better. Key Responsibilities: Financial Accounting & Reporting Prepare accounts through to Trial Balance Prepare monthly income statements and financial reports Perform balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations Process journals and manage month-end close activities Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information Financial Control & Compliance Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls Prepare VAT and statutory returns Maintain monthly journal and internal control files Ensure compliance with accounting policies and statutory requirements Support internal and external audit processes Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts Support budgeting and forecasting processes Provide financial analysis and insights to management Coordinate the accounts payable function Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiencies Job Experience and Skills Required: Qualifications: Degree in Accounting SAICA/SAIPA registration or completed articles Newly Qualified CA(SA) candidates are welcome to apply Experience: 3-5 years' accounting experience Strong financial accounting experience Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, or Manufacturing experience advantageous Audit experience with strong exposure to controls and compliance advantageous Newly Qualified CA(SA) candidates with relevant exposure will be considered Skills & Competencies: Syspro - essential Advanced Microsoft Excel Strong technical accounting knowledge Excellent reconciliation and month-end skills Strong understanding of internal controls and compliance Good financial analysis and reporting capabilities Comfortable working with routine and structured processes Collaborative and improvement-driven approach The Personality Fit: This is an environment where how you work matters just as much as what you know.
