TECHNICAL ADVISOR (Stone Fruit) Ceres - Western Cape R75 000 CTC (Medical aid, Pension) Our client in the agriculture sector is looking for a strong and driven Technical Advisor to join their team. Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Agriculture, Horticulture or a related agricultural field A master’s degree (MSc) in a relevant field will be considered an advantage Demonstrated technical experience and practical knowledge within the stone fruit production industry Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate technical information into practical production solutions Ability and willingness to travel regularly to various production regions and operational sites Valid driver’s licence Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and industry stakeholders Duties: Provide expert technical and horticultural support to stone fruit production operations, with a focus on improving productivity, quality and overall orchard performance Develop, coordinate and implement technical programmes, field trials and continuous improvement projects across production units Evaluate and provide recommendations regarding new orchard developments, including cultivar selection, rootstock choices, planting systems and modern production practices Assess and monitor fruit quality throughout the complete supply chain, from orchard production through packing, storage and export Review and interpret production, quality and post-harvest data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement practical solutions Collaborate with breeding programmes, cultivar developers and industry specialists to support the evaluation and development of new cultivars and products Build and maintain effective working relationships with production teams, customers, technical specialists and relevant industry stakeholders Provide technical guidance, mentorship and training to production personnel to promote the consistent application of best practices Stay informed of developments, technologies, research and industry trends relevant to stone fruit production Undertake any additional duties and responsibilities reasonably associated with the position Consultant: Karlia v Eeden - Dante Personnel Greenstone Apply via our website www.dantesa.co.za If you do not hear from us within 5 days, please accept that your application was unsuccessful
