An established international organisation within the medical device and healthcare sector is seeking a hands-on Supply Chain Optimisation Manager to lead and optimise its rental and depot operation across the Western and Eastern Cape. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a complex operation involving approximately 1,600 rental assets, 70 SKUs and a 16-person team , while driving improvements across warehousing, inventory, ERP/WMS accuracy, dispatch, logistics, quality and asset lifecycle management. Key Responsibilities Lead and optimise daily warehouse and depot operations , including receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, preparation and dispatch Manage the operational lifecycle of approximately 1,600 rental assets across 70 SKUs Lead, develop and manage a 16-person operational team across Cape Town and the Eastern Cape , driving accountability, productivity and performance Take ownership of ERP/WMS transactional accuracy , ensuring asset movements and inventory records are accurately captured and maintained Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stock takes, reconciliations and discrepancy investigations Manage daily dispatch and logistics activities , including vehicle allocation, scheduling, route planning and customer delivery performance Monitor operational performance against customer SLAs and proactively resolve bottlenecks impacting service delivery Embed strong quality-control processes throughout receiving, cleaning/decontamination, inspection, storage and dispatch Establish and monitor operational KPIs and performance standards , implementing corrective actions where required Drive continuous improvement initiatives across workflow, resource utilisation, productivity, turnaround times and asset availability Ensure operational processes remain compliant, consistent and audit-ready Oversee asset repair, maintenance and refurbishment activities to maximise fleet availability and minimise equipment downtime What You'll Need Relevant Degree or Diploma in Operations, Logistics, Supply Chain or a related discipline 3–5 years' operational experience , ideally within warehousing, logistics, depot, distribution or rental operations Minimum 2–3 years' management or supervisory experience Previous exposure to the medical device, healthcare, medical rental or similarly quality-controlled environment would be highly advantageous Strong experience across warehouse operations, inventory management, receiving and dispatch Proven ERP/WMS experience Experience leading operational teams, including performance management, training, coaching and development Strong understanding of quality processes, SOPs, controls and operational compliance Systems Exposure SAGE experience would be beneficial, while previous exposure to Array would be advantageous. Strong systems discipline is essential, as accurate ERP/WMS transactions, asset status updates and operational reporting form a critical part of the position.
