Are you a Financial Accountant looking to take ownership of the full accounting function within a dynamic and growing FMCG environment? Our client is a well-established medium-sized FMCG business based in Johannesburg East, seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with the business, taking ownership of financial processes and providing meaningful insights to management. Key Responsibilities Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports Manage month-end and year-end financial close processes Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances Manage general ledger accounting and journal processing Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes Prepare VAT and other statutory submissions Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow management Analyse financial results and provide meaningful commentary to management Monitor costs, margins and key financial performance indicators Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with company policies Liaise with auditors and assist with the annual audit process Support management with financial analysis and ad hoc commercial reporting Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiencies Minimum Requirements BCom Accounting / Financial Accounting or equivalent qualification 3–5 years’ experience in a Financial Accountant role Experience within FMCG, manufacturing, retail or a fast-moving environment will be advantageous Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting Experience with ERP/accounting systems Advanced Excel skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
