Business Developer - Field-Based Role in Benoni Gauteng Business Developer - Field-Based Role in Benoni Gauteng POSITION OVERVIEW Our client is seeking Business Developers to identify and develop new business opportunities within the FMCG sector, with a focus on Spaza Shops and independent retailers. The successful candidates will be responsible for identifying 'white spaces', areas with untapped potential, and converting them into revenue-generating customers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES New Business Development Identify and qualify new business opportunities in untapped markets. Conduct field visits to find new customers and areas for growth. Map and penetrate areas with business potential. Generate leads and convert them into customers. CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT Build and manage relationships with potential customers. Understand customer needs and maintain regular contact. Identify ways to increase customer engagement and sales. SALES & REVENUE GENERATION Promote products and solutions to potential customers. Support the sales process and meet business targets. Monitor customer activity and drive further growth. CROSS-FUNCTIONAL COLLABORATION Work with Sales and Marketing teams to convert opportunities into revenue. Provide feedback on market conditions and competitor activity. Implement initiatives to increase market penetration. FIELD-BASED REQUIREMENTS Be comfortable working extensively in the field. Willingness to travel within assigned territories. Confidence in approaching new customers. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Grade 12 / Matric. Previous experience in Sales, Business Development or FMCG is advantageous. Strong communication and networking skills. Target-driven and results-oriented. Drivers license PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Confident and outgoing. Highly motivated and customer focused. Comfortable building relationships quickly. CONTRACT & REMUNERATION Salary: R15,000 per month Contract: 6-month fixed-term Market: General Trade / Spaza Shops / Independent Retailers IMPORTANT This role involves active business penetration and new customer acquisition. Candidates should be proactive and adaptable to succeed.
