Operations Controller / Operations Coordinator ๐ Durban, KwaZulu-Natal We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Operations Controller to join a fast-paced transport and logistics operation in Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating transport activities, managing operational documentation, and ensuring the smooth execution of local and cross-border logistics processes. Key Responsibilities Plan and coordinate the loading and offloading of trucks. Prepare loading orders, driver documentation, and truck passports. Issue loading instructions and equipment to drivers. Monitor and manage truck movements and operational schedules. Obtain and process all required transport and clearing documentation. Handle pre-alerts for South African and DRC shipments. Apply for and obtain COD documentation. Update parking schedules, convoy security schedules, and manifest records. Manage inbound PODs and document scanning processes. Coordinate online booking systems for offloading facilities. Assist with port permit applications where required. Manage traffic fines, overload issues, and weighbridge-related matters. Handle accident-related administration and follow-up. Manage petty cash and operational registers, including fire extinguisher schedules. Resolve documentation and clearing-related issues efficiently. Minimum Requirements Previous experience in a transport, logistics, freight, or operations environment. Strong administrative and coordination skills. Experience with cross-border logistics documentation will be advantageous. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
