Barberton area, Mpumalanga province – South Africa: The Farm Manager is expected to be involved in all aspects of farming operations and to undertake practical labour and maintenance tasks, including equipment repairs, irrigation-line maintenance and general troubleshooting. This is a hands-on operational role and not solely a supervisory or management position. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS B.Sc. degree or Diploma in Agriculture, preferably related to plant production, is highly preferred A valid standard vehicle driving licence is required; a heavy vehicle driving licence will be advantageous Practical farm experience in harvesting, pruning and fertilisation is desirable Mechanical knowledge and practical mechanical ability will be advantageous KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO Upkeep of farm road infrastructure Water reticulation Fence maintenance Fire breaks Dam and pump maintenance Building maintenance Access control Waste management Report to the Director as and when required Oversee maintenance of the three houses on the premises and all other farm buildings Train and supervise farm workers.
