Production Supervisor – Hair Colour Manufacturing Production Supervisor – Hair Colour Manufacturing Reports To: Factory Manager Seniority Level: Management Contract Type: Contractor Purpose of the Position To supervise daily production operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, safety requirements, and cost objectives are achieved while maintaining compliance with GMP, ISO, and company procedures. Minimum Qualifications Grade 12 (Matric) Diploma or Degree in Production Management, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred) Experience & Skills Minimum 3 years' experience as a Production Supervisor in an FMCG, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing environment. Experience in hair colour or powder manufacturing will be advantageous. Strong leadership and people management skills. Good understanding of GMP, ISO 9001, Occupational Health & Safety, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement methodologies. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP, including production order processing, inventory transactions, production confirmations, and reporting. Excellent planning, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily production activities to achieve production, quality, safety, delivery, and cost targets. Ensure compliance with SOPs, GMP, ISO requirements, and Health & Safety standards. Monitor production output, machine efficiency, downtime, labour productivity, and take corrective action where required. Lead, coach, develop, and manage production employees, including performance, attendance, discipline, and training. Ensure accurate completion of batch documentation, production records, and SAP transactions. Work closely with Quality, Maintenance, Planning, and Warehouse teams to ensure uninterrupted production. Lead Quality Circle (QC) meetings to identify operational challenges, implement corrective actions, and drive employee engagement in problem-solving. Initiate, lead, and participate in Continuous Improvement projects focused on productivity, waste reduction, quality improvement, cost savings, OEE improvement, and process optimisation. Analyse production data and implement root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for recurring issues. Ensure proper material control, inventory accuracy, and timely production reporting.
