About this role
Intermediate Automation Engineer identifies and delivers AI and Automation solutions that improve business performance. The role manages solutions end to end and contributes to the inhouse AI platform, combining strong technical capability with effective business stakeholder engagement Key Responsibilities: Partner with departments such as Sales, HR, Finance, Technical Support, Production, and Marketing to identify inefficiencies and maintain a prioritised automation pipeline. Analyse business processes and translate requirements into well-defined AI and automation solutions, including scope, risk, data, and benefit assessments. Design, build, deploy, and continuously improve automation agents and workflows, owning solutions throughout their lifecycle. Develop and maintain core components of the internal AI platform, including model routing, agent runtimes, knowledge services, integrations, and user access layers. Build reusable platform capabilities that enable scalable, cost-effective automation across the business. Implement governance controls, including authorisation, guardrails, audit logging, budgets, and performance evaluation frameworks. Monitor and support platform operations, managing performance, capacity, costs, incidents, and root cause resolution. Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and information classification requirements. Define and maintain testing, evaluation, and regression frameworks to measure solution quality and drive continuous improvement. Lead adoption activities through training, demonstrations, documentation, and post-deployment support. Evaluate emerging AI technologies and contribute recommendations for platform enhancements and future direction. Mentor junior engineers, conduct technical reviews, and promote knowledge sharing across the team. Maintain clear technical documentation covering architecture, integrations, solutions, and operational procedures. Act as a bridge between technical and business stakeholders, ensuring mutual understanding of requirements, constraints, and objectives. Job Experience and skill required Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineer, Computer Engineer, Information Systems, Electronic Engineering or related Min 3 - 5 years experience in Software Development, Automation, Data Engineering or related Practical experience building artificial intelligence or LLM based applications, including retrieval-augmented generation, agent workflows or automation pipeline Proficiency in Python and at least one additional typed programming language (Java, Typescript, C# or similar Experience integrating with enterprise systems such as ERP (SAP), CRM, ticketing or document management platforms through APIs Working knowledge of containerisation, version control, CI/CD pipelines and monitoring in a production environment, software methodology (Agile, Scrum, DevOps) Apply now!
