Role Overview An exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Director to lead the finance function within a manufacturing and distribution environment. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role combines strategic financial leadership with hands-on operational responsibility, driving profitability, cash flow optimisation, financial governance, and business growth. Key Responsibilities Strategic Finance Partner with the CEO on financial strategy, growth initiatives, and profitability enhancement. Prepare management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections. Conduct profitability analysis across products, customers, and business channels. Evaluate capital expenditure and investment opportunities. Treasury, Imports & Supply Chain Finance Manage foreign exchange exposure and trade finance activities. Maintain and analyse landed cost models for imported products. Optimise working capital and cash flow cycles. Monitor logistics, freight, customs, and procurement costs. Manufacturing Finance & Costing Oversee inventory, BOMs, and product costing. Analyse manufacturing variances and cost efficiencies. Drive stock control processes and inventory accuracy. Strengthen internal controls across inventory and production operations. Financial Operations & Compliance Lead a team comprising 3 Debtors Clerks and 1 Creditors Clerk. Oversee debtors, creditors, payroll, and cash flow management. Ensure compliance with all tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements. Manage external audits and key stakeholder relationships. Minimum Requirements CA(SA) qualification is essential. Minimum 8-10 years' experience in a senior financial leadership role. Proven experience within a manufacturing, distribution, and import/export environment. Strong experience in management accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management. Advanced knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and manufacturing finance. Experience managing foreign exchange transactions, trade finance, and international procurement. Advanced Syspro ERP experience is essential, particularly within inventory, BOM, costing, and manufacturing modules. Strong understanding of South African tax legislation and statutory compliance. Experience leading and developing finance teams. Candidate Profile Commercially astute and strategically minded finance leader. Comfortable operating at both executive and operational levels. Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to thrive in a lean, fast-paced business environment. Preference will be given to candidates who: ✔ Hold a valid CA(SA) designation. ✔ Have extensive Syspro ERP experience. ✔ Come from a manufacturing and imports background. ✔ Are available immediately or have no notice period. ✔ Can commence employment as soon as possible.
