DBN000355 – Production Supervisor – Durban Purpose of the job: Manage daily facility operations and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless, efficient workflows from receipt to final dispatch. Required Qualifications: Must have Matric Tertiary qualification in Logistics advantageous Strong analytical and numeracy skills to measure efficiency and track production targets. Core Responsibilities Operational Oversight: Direct daily production activities to align with established weekly and monthly schedules, while actively contributing to the long-term production planning process. Workforce Management: Supervise staff attendance, scheduling, and shift punctuality to ensure manufacturing lines consistently start and conclude on time. Efficiency Optimization: Maximize throughput and team productivity by systematically identifying and executing continuous improvement opportunities. Quality Assurance: Uphold rigorous quality and compliance standards across all operational processes to guarantee product integrity. Labor Utilization & Cost Control: Track actual versus standard labor hours per unit while actively managing and minimizing the overtime percentage. Operational & Team Leadership: Standardize shift handovers by ensuring the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of logs, line status verifications, and issue escalations. Downtime Mitigation: Monitor and minimize unplanned downtime resulting from equipment failures, supply chain stockouts, or staffing constraints.
