Take total ownership of the core finance division, driving working capital optimization, debtor collections, Sage 300 systems governance, and mentoring a team of 7 finance professionals. A well-established commercial leader is seeking a hands-on, operationally grounded Financial Manager to head their centralized finance function. This position is custom-built for a proven, seasoned finance leader who excels at taking full accountability for general ledger integrity, cash flow liquidity, and active team development. Operating at the operational heart of the organization, you will hold direct responsibility for end-to-end management accounts, working capital management, balance sheet controls, and process automation. This is not a entry-level management role, it demands a leader who understands the operational detail, identifies ledger anomalies quickly, and leads from the front. Key Responsibilities: Full-Function Operational Leadership: Direct end-to-end accounting operations, ensuring absolute financial accuracy, strong internal controls, and complete trial balance integrity. Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and elevate a team of 7 finance staff, fostering operational accountability and driving high-performance standards across reporting cycles. Working Capital & Debtors Optimization: Manage credit control strategies, drive debtor collections, optimize cash flow pipelines, and safeguard business liquidity. Financial Reporting & FP&A: Compile comprehensive monthly management accounts packs, lead annual budgeting models, perform rolling forecasts, and analyze variance trends. Systems Governance & Process Engineering: Oversee accounting workflows on Sage 300 (Accpac) , driving continuous improvements across financial reporting tools, controls, and audit frameworks. Job Experience and Skills Required: Professional Qualification (Non-Negotiable): Active professional designation as a Chartered Accountant CA(SA) , Associate General Accountant AGA(SA) , or ACCA member. Experience Track Record: Minimum of 5 years of proven Financial Management experience taking complete ownership of a full finance function. People Leadership: Demonstrated, reference-backed experience directly managing, mentoring, and developing a team of finance professionals. Core Functional Competencies: Solid, hands-on experience in high-volume debtors management, cash flow modeling, and working capital optimization. Comprehensive management accounting, balance sheet reconciliation, and statutory compliance capabilities. Systems & Technical Capabilities (Non-Negotiable): Practical, hands-on operational experience with Sage 300 (Accpac) software. Advanced capability in Microsoft Excel (complex financial modeling). Non-negotiables: Exceptional attention to detail, strong commercial acumen, an approachable yet accountable leadership style, and the confidence to partner directly with operational managers. Highly Advantageous Criteria: Direct commercial experience operating within a medical, healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, FMCG, wholesale, or distribution environment.
