Our client is a leading turnkey design and build organisation operating within the commercial property and construction sector. They deliver integrated design, engineering, project management, construction and specialist services across South Africa.We are looking for a hands-on Site Manager who will be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of construction activities on-site Key Responsibilities Maintain daily site presence and monitor subcontractor and labour attendance and productivity. Supervise day-to-day site activities in line with the programme and instructions provided by the Project Manager. Enforce health and safety standards and ensure compliance with OHS requirements. Conduct toolbox talks and monitor site safety practices. Inspect workmanship against drawings, specifications and quality standards. Manage snag lists and ensure outstanding work is completed and closed out. Maintain accurate daily site diaries, attendance registers and progress reports. Coordinate material deliveries and ensure materials are available when required. Manage on-site stock, materials and general site organisation. Ensure the site remains secure, clean and properly managed. Identify and escalate delays, risks, challenges and site issues to the Project Manager. Coordinate labour and subcontractors effectively to ensure project objectives are achieved. Minimum Requirements Minimum 3–5 years' site-based experience within commercial, retail, fit-out or hospitality construction. Trade background or hands-on site supervision experience will be advantageous. Valid driver's licence. Willingness to travel nationally and relocate to project sites for the full duration of projects. Good English communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Ability to manage on-site logistics independently. Basic proficiency in MS Office and construction/project reporting systems. Own smartphone capable of running company software. OHS/Health & Safety site supervision certification, such as SAMTRAC or equivalent, will be advantageous.
