Techno Park, Stellenbosch. Our client is seeking a Financial Accountant (recently qualified CA) who will manage day-to-day financial operations and ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting. The role will support monthly financial reporting and management accounts, including analysing actual results against budgets and prior periods and investigating material variances. The Financial Accountant will also ensure tax and regulatory compliance, including VATE, PAYE, Income Tax and WCA requirements, as well as supporting annual financial and B-BEEE audits. Additionally, in this role the Financial Accountant will contribute to budgeting and forecasting as well as provide ad hoc financial information to support management decision-making. Responsibilities Financial Transaction Processing Capture customer and supplier invoices accurately and timeously Load and process local and international bank payments Prepare and process journal entries up to trial balance level General Ledger and Reconciliation Complete general ledger operations and ensure the accuracy of postings Perform monthly customer and supplier reconciliations Prepare account analyses and reconciliations as requested by various departments Maintains the integrity and accuracy of fixed asset register Perform bank reconciliations and ensure that all reconciling items are cleared promptly Accounts Receivable and Payable Administration Administer the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions effectively Ensure timely collection and payments cycles to maintain positive cash flow Reporting and Compliance Assist in the preparations of monthly management accounts and supporting schedules Prepare the monthly financial reporting pack for management. Analyse actual results against budget and prior periods Investigate and explain material variances Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE, Income Tax and WCA requirements Prepare and submit VAT201 returns, including reconciliations Supporting the preparations for annual financial audits and B-BBEE audits Budgeting Prepare rolling forecasts as part of the annual budgeting process Develop financial models and scenario analyses Prepare best-case and worst-case scenarios Support and Ad Hoc Tasks Add key responsibilities of the role Provide financial information and analysis to support management decision-making Assist with ad hoc accounting and administrative tasks as required Requirements Degree in Financial Management or Accounting, with SAIPA, CIMA or SAICA articles Accreditation as a Chartered Accountant At least 2-3 years as a Financial Accountant after completing articles
