We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Draftsman for a 6-month fixed-term contract based in Centurion, Pretoria . The successful candidate will produce accurate 2D technical drawings and 3D models of mechanical equipment, components and fabricated structures, using Autodesk Inventor , while supporting workshop, engineering and site requirements. The role also includes taking measurements on-site and assisting with fabrication-ready drawings and Bills of Materials. Candidates must be immediately available . Mechanical Draftsman – 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract Location: Centurion, Pretoria Contract: 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract Salary: Market Related Working Hours: 07:00 – 16:00 Working Arrangement: Office Based Availability: Immediately Available An established organisation within the Engineering and Manufacturing Services sector is seeking an experienced Mechanical Draftsman to join its team on a 6-month fixed-term contract . The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings and 3D models of mechanical equipment, components and fabricated structures , while working closely with Engineering, Workshop, Sales and Site teams. The role will also involve taking measurements in the workshop and at client/project sites, including the use of 3D scanning equipment where required. Minimum Requirements National Diploma (N6) or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Minimum 3 years' hands-on Mechanical Drafting experience Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor Sound knowledge of mechanical design, manufacturing and fabrication processes Experience producing GA drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and Bills of Materials Experience with 3D scanning equipment advantageous Valid driver's licence Willingness to travel to client/project sites when required Must be immediately available Key Responsibilities Take accurate measurements of equipment, components and structures Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D models Produce GA, fabrication, assembly and installation drawings Create exploded views and section drawings where required Interpret engineering sketches, concepts and specifications Apply correct dimensions, tolerances, welding symbols and material specifications Maintain drawing records, revision logs and Bills of Materials Liaise with Engineering, Workshop, Sales and Site teams Provide technical support during manufacturing and assembly Attend site visits and inspections when required Key Competencies Excellent attention to detail Strong analytical and problem-solving ability Good communication skills Organised and deadline-driven Able to work independently and as part of a team Adaptable to changing project requirements
