About the Opportunity A dynamic and growing technology group is looking for an experienced Group Accountant to join their finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working across multiple entities, managing complex reporting processes, and delivering accurate financial information to support strategic business decisions. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity across the group, ensuring compliance, driving process improvements, and partnering with leadership to enhance financial performance. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Group Accounting Prepare monthly management accounts and group financial reports. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances. Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements. Support group reporting requirements across multiple entities. General Ledger & Month-End Management Maintain the general ledger and ensure accounting accuracy. Manage month-end and year-end close processes. Review and process journals, accruals, and provisions. Oversee fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules. Tax & Regulatory Compliance Prepare VAT calculations, submissions, and reconciliations. Assist with corporate income tax and provisional tax requirements. Ensure compliance with statutory, financial, and regulatory obligations. Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and external stakeholders. Cash Flow & Treasury Monitor group cash flow requirements and liquidity. Prepare cash flow forecasts and management reports. Review banking transactions and reconciliations. Support treasury and working capital initiatives. Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis Assist with budgeting and forecasting cycles. Analyse actual results against budgets and forecasts. Provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations to management. Support business planning and decision-making processes. Audit & Process Improvement Coordinate internal and external audit requirements. Maintain strong internal controls and financial governance. Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and financial processes. Drive best practices across the finance function. Minimum Requirements BCom Accounting Degree or equivalent qualification. Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles. Minimum 6 years post-articles experience. Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax legislation. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience working on ERP and accounting systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
