My client is looking for a Senior Accountant with strong hands-on accounting experience and, importantly, solid VAT and tax expertise . You will form an integral part of the finance function, taking responsibility for accurate reporting, statutory compliance, reconciliations and ensuring that the business remains financially and legislatively compliant. Company and Job Description A well-established organisation operating within a large and structured business environment is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join its finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate accounting, strong financial controls and statutory compliance, with particular emphasis on VAT and tax . This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant looking to strengthen their technical exposure while working within a recognised corporate environment. Key Responsibilities: Manage general ledger and month-end accounting processes. Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations. Manage VAT calculations, reconciliations and submissions. Assist with corporate tax and statutory compliance requirements. Prepare accurate monthly and year-end financial information. Investigate and resolve accounting and tax discrepancies. Maintain supporting schedules and financial records. Assist with internal and external audit requirements. Maintain strong financial controls and ensure deadlines are met. Job Experience and Skills Required: BCom Accounting / Financial Accounting degree or equivalent. Approximately 5+ years’ relevant accounting experience . Strong Senior Accountant / Financial Accountant experience. Strong VAT experience – non-negotiable. Tax and statutory compliance experience – non-negotiable. Strong general ledger, reconciliations and financial reporting experience. ERP system experience. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong analytical ability and exceptional attention to detail.
