DBN000365 – Finance Manager - Bryanston Purpose of the job: To own and report on all financial and operational accounting across the clients group of companies. Role Requirements & Qualifications CA(SA) or CIMA registration is required (candidates actively pursuing these professional designations will also be considered). BCom Honours, CTA, PGDA in Accounting, or a closely related postgraduate qualification. A minimum of 5 years of progressive financial management experience, including a proven track record of effectively leading and developing a finance team. Comprehensive understanding of corporate finance, accounting principles, regulatory frameworks, and governance best practices. Advanced proficiency in financial analysis, strategic forecasting, and data-driven decision-making. High proficiency in the MS Office Suite and robust experience with enterprise financial management software (experience with SAGE or equivalent systems is highly advantageous). Technical Competencies & Experience: Financial Leadership & Governance: Lead the group's financial functions, establishing strict internal control systems, policies, and a finance risk register to ensure compliance with IFRS for SMEs, SARS, CIPC, and COIDA regulations. Financial Reporting & Management Accounts: Own the preparation of annual financial statements and present comprehensive monthly management accounts (comparing actuals vs. budgets) to drive key business decisions. Budgeting & Cost Control: Direct business units through the budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, strictly monitoring actual spend against budget to manage deviations and prevent unauthorised expenditure. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management: Prepare weekly cash flow requirements and review the balance sheet monthly to analyse working capital performance and maintain a favourable liquidity position. General Ledger & Asset Oversight: Oversee the accuracy of the general ledger by reviewing reconciliations, journal entries, payroll, supplier payments, fixed asset registers, and intercompany balances. Tax & Audit Management: Manage external audit processes to ensure timely completion with zero repeat findings, while overseeing all SARS tax submissions (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax, and deferred tax).
