Based in Somerset West, our client is seeking a Field Service Technician who will be responsible for conducting quotations, repairs, and preventative maintenance on equipment both in-house and on-site at client premises. This role demands high standards of customer service, technical diagnostics, and field travel across Cape Town and regional hubs. Key Responsibilities Repairs & Maintenance: Diagnose, repair, and test equipment at client locations and in the workshop, achieving a zero-percent return rate. Carry out warranty repairs using designated vehicle spares. Quoting & Inspections: Inspect incoming units, generate accurate service/maintenance reports with supporting photos, and submit quote data to the Branch Lead. Customer Service & Client Sites: Act as a professional brand ambassador, delivering prompt on-site service, strictly following site procedures, and assisting clients with machine loading/offloading. Workshop & Admin: Book machines in/out, attach ID tags/POD documentation, complete daily log sheets/job cards, and maintain vehicle and workshop stock accuracy. Standby & Call-outs: Attend scheduled service calls and remain available for allocated after-hours and weekend standby duties. Requirements & Qualifications Education: Matric certificate. A formal electrical or electronic qualification is a distinct advantage. Experience: Minimum of 6 months hands-on experience in an electrical or electronic environment, paired with solid customer service experience. Licence & Mobility: Valid driver’s licence with driving experience and own reliable vehicle. Willingness to travel regionally. Computer Literacy: Proficient in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Attributes: Strong verbal communication skills, presentable appearance, disciplined approach to tool and stock management, and high ethical standards
